An important part of healing is maintaining a safe hospital environment. That's why the Infection Control Department at Iroquois Memorial Hospital follows strict procedures to prevent and control the spread of infections in patients and staff.
Hand washing is key in preventing the spread of infections. The staff at Iroquois Memorial must wash their hands before and after providing care to all patients. We hope that visitors will follow this example by washing their hands before and after a visit to our hospital. For the protection of the community as well as for their own health, hospital staff may wear gowns, masks, and gloves while treating patients.
During certain high-risk situations, isolation may be necessary for a patient. Isolation typically entails a private room with a sign posted on the door stating what precautionary measures should be taken prior to entering. In case of isolation, we will explain our procedures in more detail to you and your family.

We ensure that the IMH staff is adequately prepared to deliver exceptional care and promote successful patient outcomes on an ongoing basis.
